| Quality Assurance |
|
The goal of project quality management is to support the customers during the preparation and implementation phases of the project while guaranteeing that the project goals fully meet the user requirements and staying within the planned budget and time limits. With quality assurance support, projects can be better managed and controlled, and the probability of unforeseen, unexpected events and deviations from plans can be significantly decreased. The purpose of quality assurance is to professionally identify risks within or related to the projects and to prepare recommendations to manage these in an optimal way. Such risks may be related to organizational changes or human factors, which can then be identified in advance, mitigated, and/or addressed. Quality assurance must strive for improving the quality of the communication within the project, or between the project and its surroundings, and thus for increasing the efficiency of project work. This is particularly true when in a multi-participant, large-scale IT project, you have to balance the goals, the resources, and the time factor; you have to put emphasis on continuous work and communication; and you have to make sure you create an appropriate documentation policy. If quality assurance it is not maintained continuously from the preliminary steps and the start of the project, it may be necessary to analyze and assess the current status of the project, i.e., to perform a project audit.
